We are thrilled to announce that Wendy Maisey has become the proud recipient of an O.B.E. (An Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the Queen's New Year Honour List 2020.
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas. I’ve some exciting news to share which has been embargoed until now. I’ve been granted an OBE for my contribution to the UK Economy and International Trade in the New Years Honours list! David Maisey DL, who along with me is a co-founder of the ICC Solutions is also granted an OBE in the New Year’s Honours List.
The awards recognise the outstanding achievements of people across the UK, and Wendy has been selected for her outstanding contribution to International Trade and the British Economy with over 20 years of exporting through ICC Solutions Ltd - the company she co-founded with her business partner, David. He was also recognised in the New Year's Honours list also receiving and OBE for the same contributions.
The honour is the icing of the cake for Wendy, and the result of 23 years of hard work running the company in Warrington, Cheshire, which develops IT based test tools for the payments industry and exports to over 100 countries. The company has previously won four Queen's Awards for Enterprise - two for Innovation and two for International Trade.
Both Wendy and Dave are keen to help others and support many charities including the Duke of Edinburgh's Award and, more locally, Warrington Youth Club.
Not content with just being a contributor to the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, ICC Solutions has successfully developed an exporting skill, which helps young people achieve their DofE Award status through education - and helping to inspire future British exporters.
I am truly honoured and humbled to be recognised in this way and to be a recipient of an O.B.E. I am the first in my family ever to have received such an honour and they are all bursting with pride. We've been bringing prosperity and employment to Warrington and the UK economy for over 23 years and enjoying every minute of it, but never in my wildest dreams did I expect this recognition.
Enriching and giving back to my local community has always been key and through the export skill initiate we're encouraging a new generation of youngsters to be equipped and continue to fly the flag of the UK economy and exporting.
